Memories about Morris F-12 (Iida Gakki)

I’ll tell you about my long-since-sold Morris F-12 (made by Iida Gakki). This guitar used mahogany for the sides and back. Unfortunately, I recall its sound being rather mediocre.
After experiencing a Morris F-12 (probably) made by Terada Gakki, which had dried out over the years and produced a thunderous sound (maybe a bit exaggerated (lol)), I searched for various cheap Morris guitars. This Iida Gakki model was a dud.
Guitars using mahogany for the sides and back often give the impression of a warm, rounded sound, but some are completely different, so I feel there’s significant individual variation. I think the Morris F-12 was probably what sparked my interest in Japan vintage guitars (though mostly Morris ones…).
That F-12 definitely had a mahogany back, and I remember the signature being F.YAMADA (meaning it was made by Terada Gakki). I might be mistaken somewhere. Sorry if I’m wrong. It developed an amazing sound over time, and that’s how I got hooked.

I wish I’d bought that Gibson Blues King

By the way, the best acoustic guitar I’ve ever played that I don’t own was a Gibson J-45 (quite old) I played at a live music izakaya in Sapporo. I imagine it must have been incredibly expensive.
And another one was a Gibson Blues King I encountered at a music store (super old. Probably from the 1950s or 60s). Both had that punchy, bass-heavy sound with overwhelming volume and dynamics. Ahh, I should’ve bought that Blues King… I had the money back then, and it was only around 100,000 yen…

Both of these Gibsons have mahogany bodies, you know? They also have mahogany backs that really resonate.
Come to think of it, where did that Iida Gakki F-12 go? Probably took it to some bar, got drunk, and forgot about it~
