A guitar bearing the crescent moon logo—a symbol of Moon—retaining the distinct character of 90s component guitars.

What is Moon Guitars?
Pioneer of Component Guitars: Born in the late 1970s. In an era when buying ready-made instruments was the norm, it pioneered the component (assembly) concept in Japan—allowing players to “combine their favorite body and neck to build the ultimate guitar.”
Manufactured by the legendary workshop “PGM”: The guitars are actually crafted by PGM, a workshop led by master craftsman Kazuhiko Nyui. A small team of skilled artisans meticulously handles everything from wood selection to assembly.
Trusted by professionals: A “tool for the gig” used by top professionals worldwide, including Issei Noro of Cassiopeia and Steve Lukather of TOTO.

The one and only “Reggae Master”
Name Origin: Conceived by Mr. Koshimizu of Chopper (now Freedom) and born in 1981. True to its name, it was crafted to pursue “the ideal sound for crisp reggae cutting.”
Spec Features: While retaining the Telecaster shape, it combines a mahogany body with P90 (soapbar) pickups. This design blends the best of both worlds: the playability of a Fender and the rich, full tone of a Gibson.
About this Reggae Master
By the way, the Moon, Reggae Master in the photo isn’t mine—it belongs to the owner of the live house I frequent. He’s naturally a bit lazy, so it’s covered in dust, the strings are old, and it’s in pretty rough shape. Still, just having that crescent moon logo on the headstock gives it this urban, nighttime vibe.
It has this unbalanced coolness—a Telecaster shape topped with my beloved P90s. The P90s give it that signature thick yet focused tone, which is just the best. When you crank the reverb, crunch it up, and really dig in, it produces this truly rich, mature sound.
